SP 4449 at BO Tower Editors Pick! Contributor's Pick!
Passing where NYC's famous Dreyfuss Hudsons once tread, 4449 leads her train across the diamonds at BO Tower, one of Michigan's last manned interlockings. In today's world, seeing a mainline steam locomotive AND an active tower together is an incredibly rare occurance.

Jim Satterwhite General I will bet that this has been the best documented run in this engine's history! 8/2/2009 2:37:59 AM

Gregg Pullano General Mayby Jim, but lets not forget that the '49 has also done the Freedom train and the New Orleans World's fair too. One thing is for sure though, 4449 is probably the best documented engine in the United States and maybe even the world. I wouldn't hesitate to call it the most famous locomotive in the world, after seeing the excitment she's generated. 8/2/2009 11:17:37 AM
