Rolling downgrade into the Thornapple River Valley, CSX 738 leads R170 towards the overpass at Thornapple River Drive. This was one of a number of trains rerouted through Michigan over this particular weekend due to an epic crash on the B&O in Indiana. This was the only one of those trains I saw, however, as I was too busy sending my girlfriend off to India and then subsequently missing her. I just happened to catch this train by pure luck. Doing some errands. |

CSX Coal train N924-16 heads west through a mini snow squall with a pair of newer ES44ACs on the head end. By this time, I believe these units were about one month old (maybe older), but they still looked brand new! The signals at Okemos can just barely be seen in the distance of this shot, taken from Hullett road. |
