NH&I 40
Title:  NH&I 40
Description:  It's a cold and dreary morning in New Hope, as New Hope & Ivyland's consolidation #40 prepares to depart with the first North Pole Express of the day. If not for the sign advertising cab rides, and the christmas lights on the depot, there is very little to set this scene in the 21st century.

Surprise!
Title:  Surprise!
Description:  After photographing 2681 and 393, and watching the first several cars of the northbound TSBY freight, I turned my back on the train to review the pictures. When I looked up, I saw everyone at the depot gawking at the train. I turn around, and I see this! This is Former Gettysburg Railroad 2-8-0 #76, which was in transit from the Ohio Central Railroad, to the Steam Railroading Institute in Owosso, Michigan. To see pictures of it being unloaded in Owosso Click Here: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/archivethumbs.aspx?id=5884 I guess I was just in the right place, at the right time!

The 76 is pushed onto the service track
Title:  The 76 is pushed onto the service track
Description:  The "Goose" pushes #76 onto SRI's service track. It was a memorable day for everyone involved. Restoration of this locomotive is scheduled to begin very soon, and the engine will be operable and pulling excursion trains at SRI by the summer of 2006. Update, 7/2008: Due to the amount of work involved in keeping Pere Marquette 2-8-4 #1225 in operational form, work has progressed very slowly on the 76. The date for its return to service is currently set at 2010.
