| A few miles north of Oakley, 1225 creeps up to the marker at Milepost 76 (From Jackson, Michigan). Once upon a time, the St. Charles branch was part of the New York Central's mainline between Jackson and Saginaw. Today, only the segments between Jackson and Lansing (now the NS Lansing Secondary) and this segment between Owosso and Fergus exist. The sections between Fergus and Paines Junction, near Saginaw, and from Owosso to Lansing were torn up in the late 1970s. |
