Even as I took this shot, I was already starting to pull the camera away from my face. This was my first time ever seeing a mainline steam locomotive actually running at mainline speed. These photos do NOTHING to convey just how exciting it really was. |

While 51 and the rest of the train wait for a lineup, the 4449 continues to back further into the yard for servicing. Later in the evening, it will make the move down the Indiana Harbor Belt to reach CP 502 on the NS Chicago Line and proceed to Michigan City. |
